Bridal and Occasion Certificate
Six Saturdays, 10am to 5pm. Built around the two things that make bridal work difficult: longevity in unpredictable conditions and doing six faces before eleven o'clock.
The six sessions
Skin and longevity
Prep for a twelve-hour day, humidity, tears and the difference between setting and stripping the skin.
Tone matching a party
Matching across different skins with one kit, and mixing rather than carrying forty foundations.
The classic bridal face
Soft structure that photographs cleanly, and how flash reads powder that looked fine in the room.
Occasion and evening
Stronger eye work for parties and events, and adapting a look for someone who never wears makeup.
Timings and the morning
Running order for a party of six, trial appointments, what to do when the schedule slips, and kit layout.
Business of bridal
Pricing a trial and a wedding day, contracts, deposits, travel, and insurance for working in a venue.
Who takes it
Roughly half the students on a bridal cohort have never trained before. The rest are working artists adding bridal to an existing diary, or diploma graduates coming back a year later because bridal turned out to be where the bookings were.
What you need to bring
Your own kit if you have one, and a model for sessions three and five. The school books models for the other four sessions. If you cannot source a model we can, but tell us a fortnight ahead.
